My name is Alan O’Brien. I have been the Hall Manager in Doon Community Centre for the past 17 months. I was on the dole for 5 months as Hall Manager when a position came up with Doon Development through FAS. However this was only a 12 month contract. My role as hall manager includes taking bookings for the All Weather Pitch(regularly being used 15-16 times a week by local schools/clubs/surrounding parishes) getting rooms ready for meetings, opening the hall, driving back at the top of every hour to collect the money from the team just finishing and letting on the team just about to start, getting ready for parties/funerals as well as locking up and making sure everything is ok. During my time with FAS I often worked 28-30 hours p/w. I am sending you this message just to see if there is any job opportunity at Ballyhoura which I could get onto which would entail what I am currently doing,instead of being back on the dole
